A little vintage GIVEAWAY!

Well, it's been an incredibly long time since I last held a giveaway (I've only had one so far). And my blog is way over a year now, so I think it's time for a new giveaway. Times are hard, so I can not offer anything ostentatious but, hopefully, you'll be interested enough to enter :).

So, which are the goodies I'm offering in this giveaway?

1* A vintage brooch I bought in Japan a long time ago. It was quite pricy, but I'm willing to give it to one of you, my dear readers :).

2* Two magnets with the picture of Audrey Hepburn.

3* "Introduction to Fashion Dressmaking by Singer" - Dressmaking book from 1971.

4* A small cookbook from 1948 that I believe came with the Sunbeam Mixmaster.

Books you probably didn't know existed

Hello, folks! Here I am, once again, showing you some of the strangest books I've found at the libary I'm volunteering.

Look at this one. Seriously? Hehe.

A book about Mc Donald's happy meal toys around the world ... couldn't help opening it.

An odd cover for an atypical book. We see lots of catalogues every day.

Erm ... Someone was into sorcery, apparently? :/ These three books were donated by the same person.

This week I've seen  several very old cookbooks. This one is from 1953 :).

Another vintage book I found and bought ;). I was planning to put it up for a giveaway together with other goodies, but some pages are missing :(.

It's from 1977. These are some of my favorite pages :).

I love colorful lights

Hello, everybody! I hope you've all had a great start to a new week! ;) Today I want to introduce a new series of posts dedicated to color. I can't promise I'll make it a weekly feature, but you'll see it quite regularly, that's for sure.

So, to start this series of posts, I want to show you my fun new colorful lights. Aren't they pretty? :D We got them at Target for a little over $10. I can't wait to use them to light our balcony when we get a barbecue and invite people over!

Contrasts: The aftermath - before and after series

Having friends over can be fun; but let's face it, after they leave, it is usually a pain in the neck to clean up the house. Luckily, David's friends are very well behaved and even use coasters or take off their shoes if requested, haha.

So, this is what the house looked like this morning.

Failed pictures (II)

I wanted to take a picture of Dante on his bed; I just love it when he puts his front paws on the edge :p. When I pressed the button, he happened to yawn ... He yawns a lot. He looks creepy here, but he's so not! :)

Earlier this week, Dimitri jumped onto the head of the bed at 6:30AM; he was hyper. I grabbed my phone and took a couple of pictures. As it usually happens when the flash goes off, he looks like a scary bat, haha.

I was going to delete this one right the second I saw it. Then I realized it is too funny not to share; I mean, look at my face, hahaha!

You can barely tell what's going on in these ones; it's a car wash. I guess it's not worth taking pictures there unless there's daylight ...

I was going to snap my bag, but then Dante got on my way. That's all right, it was a happy unexpected intervention, hehe.
