Sisters of the heart

The most difficult thing about moving to a foreign country is knowing that you’ll be apart from your loved ones. I don’t have many friends, but those few that I do have are very important to me, almost like family.

My very best friend is Val; I’m sure you’ve seen her in pictures in my posts. I met her in 1997 in an Oasis concert here in Buenos Aires. We know pretty much everything about each other and are so used to our good things and bad things, that we are almost sisters.

She’s been by my side through thick and thin and we’ve managed to stay friends even when we were in different countries. I’m not scared about losing her, because I’m confident I won’t. I’m just a little uneasy about not being able to see her as often as I’m used to. We share our taste for music, cafés and pubs, pets, stationery, Japan and the UK, movies and our vision of modern world.

We’ve laughed, cried, gone to lots of fun concerts, had many cups of tea in the cutest cafés, drank endless amounts of booze and eaten the yummiest dishes in most of the restaurants in town probably. All these things were so much fun! But the best part is that we got to do them together as we indulged ourselves in good chats. I know we’ll keep being best friends regardless of the part of the world we’re in and I can’t wait too see what the future holds for our friendship. Thank you, Val, for being my best friend, for loving my quirky and sometimes twisted self and for always being there for me. You're a real sister to me and I'm the luckiest person in the world to have you. I love you!
